How To Relieve Tinnitus

PRESS PLAY ABOVE FOR SAMPLE AUDIO

Tinnitus is rarely a sign of a serious underlying condition and it can affect people of any age, though it is more common if you are aged over 65. For some people, it may come and go and only be a minor irritation; for others it can be continuous and have a significant impact on everyday life, affecting your concentration and causing problems with sleeping, anxiety and depression.

This recording is based on the idea that your thoughts affect the way you behave and that, by using deep relaxation, you can retrain the way you think to change your behaviour. Stress can make your Tinnitus worse, so relaxation techniques can help to find ways of coping with it, of reducing your anxiety and of enabling you to accept the noises which after a while may become less noticeable. It can just be a matter of becoming so relaxed that you are not worried about the noise and can actually learn to distract yourself and to live without thinking about it.
